Antonia Diaz Hernandez, Mexico
With $50, Antonia was able to earn the money she needed for shoes for her children.
A $50 loan was Antonia Diaz Hernandez’s introduction to microfinance. With this money, she bought thread and fabric for her embroidery and weaving business. For the first time ever, Antonia has made enough profit to buy shoes for all her 10 children to attend school. Her eldest daughter has been able to finish primary and middle school and is a microfinance client herself. Antonia has since paid back her first loan, an additional loan, and is requesting a third loan to earn more money to make improvements to the family home.
